KYREN WILSON was forced to swat away a fly as he took on Judd Trump in the Shanghai Masters final.
The 2024 world champion had a brilliant week in China, coming through battles with , Mark Williams and Zhao Xintong to reach the championship match.

And things threatened to get even more tricky for him as a fly interrupted him at a crucial moment.
Commentating for , former world No3 Neal Foulds said: “The insect is making it even more difficult than it already is.”
Wilson, 34, didn’t waste any time in dealing with the situation – swatting the fly without hesitation.
The match referee was then given the unenviable task of getting rid of the downed insect.
Foulds’ colleague Dave Hendon added: “As if it’s not hard enough playing Judd Trump, 7-3 down…
“Well, that might be the end of that. One less opponent to worry about, maybe.”
Wilson was attempting to retain the Shanghai Masters title, having beaten Ali Carter in last year’s final.

But it proved too difficult a task, as Trump .
Trump, 36, pocketed a cool £210,000 for his triumph, while Wilson walked away with £105k.
Following his defeat, Wilson said: “A very disappointing result. Crazy to be in my hotel room at the interval and 7-3 behind.
“I felt it could have been easily 5-5. You cannot give somebody like Judd Trump so many easy chances to come back and take the lead. He deserved his win.
“A fantastic champion and he smelt blood when I was struggling and in survival mode.
“For my children, this is their first time in Shanghai and they don’t want to go home – they want to stay. It has always been a very special event.”
