Traditional rulers of Kwara North Senatorial District have expressed their gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the All Progressives Congress, APC, leadership for supporting the zone to produce the next governor of the state in 2027.

Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers, Vice Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Council of Chiefs and Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, described the development as a historic moment.

He said the decision showed fairness, inclusiveness and a genuine commitment to political balance in the state.

According to the Etsu Patigi, “Backing Kwara North’s aspiration proves that the leadership is serious about justice, unity, and keeping peace across all regions of the state.

“This move has given the people renewed hope, strengthened political harmony, and boosted confidence in the APC at both state and national levels.”

He also praised Governor AbdulRazaq for his statesmanship and commitment to fairness, saying his administration has consistently promoted unity, peace and development across Kwara.

The monarch thanked President Tinubu and the APC leadership for listening to the people of Kwara North. He said finally addressing the long-standing call for power to shift to the district will go down as a major milestone in the state’s political history.

The traditional rulers pledged their continued support for peace, unity and democracy, and prayed for wisdom, good health and guidance for President Tinubu, Governor AbdulRazaq and all APC leaders.
