The percentage reached 56 percent in some areas but was only 35 percent in others.

This situation follows a report from the Royal College of Surgeons, which states that tooth decay is the primary reason for hospital admissions for children.

The data, analyzed by the relevant authorities, also shows that approximately 60 percent of adults have not visited a dentist in at least the two years leading up to June.

Campaigners report that families are borrowing money to seek private dental care or resorting to “DIY dentistry.”

The Liberal Democrats have introduced a £750 million rescue plan aimed at regions lacking NHS dentists.

Health spokeswoman Helen Maguire mentioned that they would rehire dentists who have transitioned to private practice and provide free check-ups for children and individuals with low incomes.

She stated: “The current situation is a ticking time bomb for the NHS, particularly concerning children's health. People are forced to spend hundreds, even thousands, on private care.”

A spokesperson for the government commented: “This Government inherited a challenging situation.”

“We are implementing urgent and emergency appointments and introducing supervised tooth brushing for young children in the most disadvantaged areas.”
