The leader of the UK Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch, has introduced an ambitious immigration reform known as the “Radical Borders Plan,” pledging to deport 150,000 illegal migrants each year as part of what she claims to be Britain’s “toughest border reforms in history.”

In a video message shared through her official X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, Badenoch announced the establishment of a new Removals Force, modeled after the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, aimed at directly addressing illegal migration.

“My message is straightforward: if you are in the UK illegally, you will be detained and deported,” Badenoch stated.

The opposition leader sharply criticized both previous Conservative and Labour governments, accusing them of allowing Britain’s border system to deteriorate due to increased illegal crossings and poorly managed asylum policies.

“Labour promised to dismantle the gangs,” she remarked. “Instead, they resulted in record small boat crossings, over 50,000 illegal arrivals, 32,000 individuals in asylum hotels, and wasted billions of pounds. It’s sheer weakness.”

Badenoch’s proposed reforms indicate a significant change in the UK’s migration policy.

The plan proposes an immediate ban on asylum applications from illegal entrants, the UK's withdrawal from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), and the repeal of the Human Rights Act.

The proposal also entails deporting all illegal arrivals within seven days, eliminating legal obstacles to mass deportations, and implementing visa sanctions against countries that refuse to repatriate their nationals.

According to Badenoch, the plan aims to “end the asylum hotel industry,” save billions in taxpayer money, and restore public confidence in Britain’s border system.

“Only the Conservatives possess the courage and clarity to resolve this issue,” she insisted. “If you arrive here illegally, you will be deported.”

Badenoch’s announcement comes amid increasing public pressure on the government to curb illegal migration and follows months of criticism regarding the rising number of small boat crossings across the English Channel.
