She warned has yet to produce a crucial – months after it was promised.

The blueprint is meant to set out how the UK will buy weapons, equipment and munition but it has been missing since last autumn.

Ms Badenoch said: “At a time of war in Europe and war in , at a time when those conflicts are affecting every family across Britain, at a time when Britain’s place in the world is in flux….our government literally doesn’t have a plan.

“There’s no plan for how the Government is going to actually buy the equipment, weapons and munitions.

“There’s no plan for how to enact the SDR. There’s no plan for rearming Britain.”

She added: “Rearming Britain cannot wait until the next Government.

“So I say to the Prime Minister, let’s put our party interests aside. We both agree we have to rearm.

“Let’s find the money. Let’s identify the spending cuts. “

Labour has pledged to to 2.5 per cent of GDP by 2027, but has not committed to hitting 3 per cent this Parliament.

The Tories said they would fund higher defence spending by bringing back the two-child benefit cap, freeing up billions for the armed forces.

Ms also pledged to redirect £17billion from net zero projects into a new “Sovereign Defence Fund” to boost Britain’s military strength.
