Survivors have accused ministers of diluting the inquiry's focus.

This comes after they expressed feeling overlooked by the safeguarding minister and others in October.

Some individuals warned that the inquiry might be expanded beyond the rape gangs scandal, which involved predominantly white girls being victimized by gangs mainly composed of South Asian men.

Ms. Badenoch’s proposed terms of reference include a commitment to “consider whether offenders exhibit shared religious, ethnic, national, family, or clan characteristics.”

She stated: “This is about survivors and their needs.

“They have communicated to us what must be included in an inquiry to achieve justice.

“I urge the Government to take the appropriate action and establish an inquiry that not only examines state institutions that have failed survivors but also the ethnic and religious connections that contributed to these crimes.”

Supporting the Conservative initiative, grooming survivor Fiona Goddard remarked: “I have lost confidence in the Government's ability to make significant progress.”

Sir bowed to demands for a national grooming gang inquiry during the summer.

However, six months later, an official terms of reference has yet to be released.

A spokesperson stated: “The abuse of children by grooming gangs is one of the most heinous crimes.

“We will do everything within our power to ensure that these atrocities never occur again.”
