That puts him within touching distance of 65,811 tally, which took the ex-PM three years to reach.

Robert Bates, Research Director at the Centre for Migration Control, also said: “The current Prime Minister has done more than any other to worsen the crisis in the Channel.

“The Starmer Boats are going to continue at record levels because the Labour government has no plan.

“The gimmicks have not worked, the deal with France has made us a laughing stock in Europe, and ministers are more concerned with the human rights of illegal migrants than the security and safety of the British public.”
