Be cautious about what you wish for, as it may indeed come true – and then where will we be?
There seems to be a consensus that Sir is the most ineffective Prime Minister since the title was created. I wouldn't argue with that.
Possible candidates are emerging to replace the PM, and Rod suggests it's not a promising situation for the British public.
Everyone agrees Starmer is a poor PM, but Rod warns that those vying to replace him could be an even bigger disaster.Credit: Getty

We all seem to agree that it would be a terrific idea if he could be convinced to stop being Prime Minister. If he would just, you know, leave.
Honestly, I have no strong objections to that. Neither does Labour, frankly.
The party currently sits 14 points behind in the polls.
They are trailing significantly and are even lagging behind the Greens, who are often dismissed as a group of eccentrics.
They are losing voters and members to the Liberal Democrats, the Greens, and even the Jezbollah Fruitcake Alliance, also known as The People's Front of Judea, or “”.
They have already lost millions of voters to Reform, and they are likely losing a few more right now to the resurgent Conservatives.
Skewed to the Left
A couple of hundred of them are worried about their seats in the next election, and rightly so. Yet, as always, they believe the main issue with Starmer is that he isn't left-wing enough.
Yes, comrades, that's the reason the Government is struggling.
So, given this situation, who do they want to succeed him?
Well, it seems Wes Streeting is the frontrunner. He isn't shy about making this known.
The latest news indicates he plans to form a partnership with the leftist who had to resign as deputy leader due to controversy.
Wes wants Ange on board because the left wing of the party is wary of him, but they adore Ange.
They distrust Wes because he sometimes expresses sensible views, which the Left cannot tolerate.
I’m also not convinced she’s, you know, that bright.
Rod on Rayner
However, here’s the reality: Streeting stands little chance of becoming leader.
The party is heavily skewed to the left, and Rayner will be thinking, “Why should I support that shiny-faced munchkin?”
She enjoys much more support within the parliamentary Labour Party and among activists.
Thus, it is Rayner, not Streeting, who is in a better position to challenge Starmer and potentially win.
Trust me, that would be bad enough. A government led by a woman who proposed legislation allowing someone to sue for unfair dismissal after just one day on the job.
Starmer rightly dismissed that idea.
Rayner is also a strong advocate for rights. She stated over a year ago that “transgender women’s rights are women’s rights.” Um, I’m not sure about that, Ange.
She was among the first to kneel in support of .
Angela Rayner may be poised to make a move — but a far-left, divisive premi
