SIR Keir Starmer has signalled his support for Donald Trump bombing Iran.

The PM, in Shanghai yesterday during his high-profile visit to China, warned Iran’s rulers must be stopped from getting a nuclear weapon.

The intervention comes as the in preparation for strikes.

In a warning to , Sir Keir said: “The goal or the aim here is that Iran shouldn’t be able to develop . That’s hugely important.

“And, of course, we need to deal with the fact that they are repressing protesters, killing protesters. It’s grotesque what is happening.

“And so that’s where our focus is and we’re working with allies to that end.”

When pressed on whether Britain would support a further US strike on the country, he said: “I am saying we support the goal and we are talking to allies about how we get to that goal.”

It came after was asked whether he would hold talks with Iran.

But military leaders there said they would unleash their arsenal on US targets. Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia said US aircraft carriers had “serious vulnerabilities” and that American bases in the Gulf region were within the range of its medium-range missiles.

Thousands of protesters in Iran have been killed or injured this month in a crackdown.

PM AVOIDED A COVER-UP

PM SIR Keir Starmer ignored advice to get dressed in bed to avoid hidden Chinese spy cameras in his hotel room.

He said he did not follow instructions given to his predecessor Theresa May when she visited Beijing in 2018.

She was reportedly told by security experts to put her clothes on under sheets to avoid being pictured nude.

Asked if he did the same, Sir Keir said: “No, I can confirm I didn’t. And I’ve always said we need to seize the opportunities mindful of our national security.”
