Kebbi 2027: I remain committed to Tinubu, Gov Idris – Aliero

Published on May 20, 2025 at 08:09 AM

Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the All Progressives Congress, APC, its leadership, and the administration of Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris.

This comes in reaction to recent remarks credited to one Tijani, which allegedly suggested the senator’s disapproval of certain figures within the party.

Aliero, in a statement issued by his media office in Birnin Kebbi on Monday, dismissed the claims and declared his continued allegiance to the APC.

“I stand firmly with the APC and our esteemed leaders, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris,”;; he said. “Their visionary leadership and dedication to progress have uplifted Kebbi State and set a benchmark for governance in Nigeria.”;;

Senator Aliero was among three sitting senators from Kebbi who defected recently from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the APC, alongside Senator Yahaya Abdullahi, Kebbi North, and Senator Garba Maidoki, Kebbi South.

The high-profile defections, which triggered political realignments across the state, were widely seen as a strategic move to consolidate APC’s dominance and reposition key figures ahead of the 2027 elections.

Aliero noted that the development strides witnessed in Kebbi are a result of the collective efforts of the party’s leadership and called on members and supporters to remain united.

“The progress we are seeing is due to the hard work and commitment of our leaders. I urge all stakeholders to remain focused and work together for the good of our state,”;; the senator added.
