The Princess Diaries, follows the life of Princess as she carves out a career in showbiz, and has so far featured her dad Peter Andre, stepmum Emily MacDonagh and brother Junior.
However, Katie was noticeably absent from the show and said she was banned from filming at the request of Princesses management, who also manage Peter.
Now, as Princess films two more seasons of her show, a source has told The Sun that things are different this time around.
“Katie has been filming some scenes for the new series of The Princess Diaries,” they confirmed.
The source added: “She will appear on various video calls with her daughter like on Facetime and stuff, so she will have a presence in the upcoming episodes.
“It’s quite the turnaround as Katie was banned from appearing last time around, but she is a huge part of Princess’s life and both Princess and Kate wanted her mum to be in the show.”
Princess is currently filming for season two and three of the show, and in a U-turn, Peter and his wife Emily won’t be appearing in them this time around.
Last November, due to last year’s row with Katie “overshadowing” the show’s launch.
A source said: “Basically Princess’s big moment was overshadowed by her rowing parents.
“It definitely took the shine off her.”
Last year, Katie reignited her feud with ex-husband Peter after she was left out of the ITV2 show.
At the time, she claimed: “I’m not allowed and I’m not welcome.
“But what hurts my feelings, and it does upset me, is when your kids grow up, you go to their assemblies, you go to their things, you go to their awards, you go to their football matches or , you’re involved in everything they do.
“And knowing that what my career has been, Princess is taking that same path, trying to do the same as what I’ve done, which I absolutely love and adore of Princess.
She added: “But I have not been allowed to go on any photo shoot, no signings or openings or anything like that.”
