Jurgen Klopp Takes on New Role Just Weeks After Former Liverpool Boss, 58, Teases Retirement

JURGEN KLOPP has declared that he will serve as a pundit for the 2026 World Cup next year after hinting to fans about “a return to the touchline.”

The German manager has not been in charge of a team since departing Liverpool at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season, yet he has been frequently associated with various managerial openings.

Klopp stated he might never manage again and was subsequently appointed by Red Bull as their Head of Global Soccer.

However, the former Borussia Dortmund coach has now disclosed in a social media video that he will take up a new role with the German TV station Magenta TV for the upcoming tournament.

In a clip that excited fans about a potential managerial return, he said: “Many of you have always known better. But I genuinely couldn’t see it for myself. Going back to the sideline? I don’t miss anything.

“This is what I always believed. But now it’s tingling again. Grass beneath my feet. The electrifying atmosphere in the stadium. And I want to be really close again.

“Oh? No, not as a manager. I am becoming a pundit for Magenta TV at the FIFA World Cup 2026.”

Klopp has previously been connected to the German national team position but will instead be observing Julien Nagelsmann in action during the tournament, which will take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
