Heavy downpour hit the in Dungay, New South Wales, today – with 7mm of rain falling.

As well as thunder cracking, there were 17mph gusts of wind sweeping the site.

And the bad is set to continue into tomorrow – with a further 11mm of rain expected to fall in the next 24 hours.

Heavy rain is forecast for Sunday, too – before the weather perks up on Monday, with highs of 31C (87.8F) predicted.

The weather can lead to blood-sucking leeches infesting the camp.

It can also cause the site’s creeks to “quickly turn from a trickle to a torrent”.

It spells bad news for the stars – including model , ex-Lioness and Spandau Ballet star .

A show source told The Sun: “‘We’re putting our weather contingencies into place to ensure the weather damage is minimal.

“But this rain is torrential so a wet and soggy camp is inevitable.

“Never underestimate the Gold Coast weather, it can go from 30-degree heat to biblical storms in minutes.”

On last year’s series, Sun columnist revealed her bra got after a leech latched on to her during one night in camp.

An ITV spokesman said: “We have contingency plans in place to cover all weather eventualities.”

Meanwhile, five celebs were pictured parachuting on to a beach for their yesterday.

  • Vogue Williams – The Irish model and presenter is also joining the line-up.
  • Angry Ginge – A hugely popular football influencer and social media star.
  • Tom Read Wilson – The Celebs Go Dating favourite is set to round out the line-up of stars heading down under

They leapt out of helicopters and parachuted on to the sand at Evans Head in New South Wales.

The group looked delighted to see each other once they all hit the ground – and they were watched over by hosts and Dec Donnelly from what appeared to be a castle.

One onlooker said: “When the celebs landed, they all ran around and hugged each other.

“At one point, they did some kind of strange dance together.

“When they spotted , they were all lined up and started waving at them.

“They were all smiling and looked really happy – but that will no doubt change once they start having to take part in some grim Bushtucker Trials.”

Kelly, 45, wore a leopard print jumpsuit as she took on the task.

She and Martin, 64, would have been particularly worried about – because they are both afraid of heights.

The show launches on ITV1 at 9pm on Sunday.
