ENGLAND footballer John Stones must pay £1,000 after being caught speeding in his £100,000 Land Rover.
The ex- star, 32, was clocked by a speed camera doing 43mph in a 30mph zone.
The defender, who now plays for in , committed the offence on May 8 in Knutsford, .
could have settled it with a £100 fixed penalty and three points — but had not responded to an intended prosecution order, said.
In a witness statement, a Cheshire Police officer said the camera caught the car going 13mph over the limit.
The statement says a notice of intended prosecution was posted to Stones’ home on May 13.
Mr Margerum wrote: “An admission was received, a conditional offer of fixed penalty was sent but no further response was received.”
He instead must pay a four-figure penalty, which included costs, and was given four points by Warrington JPs.
Stones joined City in 2016 from but left the leaders in the on a free transfer.
