A clue in a resurfaced photograph of a Serbian assassin might uncover the identity of Jill Dando's killer.
The Crimewatch presenter, who was 37 years old, was shot in the head at her doorstep in West London in April 1999, yet her murderer has never been apprehended.

CCTV footage captured an unidentified man, referred to as Mr. X, walking along a potential escape route for the gunman approximately 20 minutes after the shooting.
Milorad Ulemek, 57, a former Serbian paramilitary commander and convicted assassin, is currently serving a 40-year prison sentence and has previously been identified as a potential suspect in Ms. Dando's murder.
Recent evidence has prompted the Metropolitan Police to reevaluate his possible connection to the death of the television star.
This new evidence includes a photo displaying Ulemek wearing a tie that closely resembles the one worn by the unidentified man in the CCTV footage.
The resurfaced image features the assassin alongside his first wife and is believed to have been taken sometime between 1992 and 1998.
A witness had previously stated that a man she observed "running for his life" from the crime scene bore a resemblance to Ulemek.
Facial comparison expert Emi Polito has noted that the most "significant" similarities between the two images are the dark tones in the light stripes on the mystery man's tie.
Mr. Polito, commissioned by The Mirror, further stated that both ties share a similar "general form and style," with the three dark stripes having "broadly comparable size and tone."
However, he did mention that the poor quality of the CCTV footage makes it impossible to reach a definitive conclusion.
The footage is reportedly part of 223 boxes of evidence currently stored by the police.
Modern forensic imaging techniques may assist detectives in determining the relevance of this evidence.
The police informed The Mirror that they are "evaluating this information to ascertain whether it represents a new and credible line of inquiry."
After Ms. Dando's death, the BBC received a phone call claiming she was targeted as revenge for a recent attack on a television station in Belgrade, Serbia, which resulted in the deaths of 17 individuals.
In the weeks leading up to her death, she hosted a television appeal that raised £54 million for Kosovan refugees fleeing Serbian paramilitaries.
Ulemek had commanded a group of assassins who targeted those opposing dictator Slobodan Milosevic during the civil war in the former Yugoslavia.
Mr. Polito expressed "limited support" for the notion that Ulemek resembles Mr. X; however, he did agree that they share similar facial features, including mouth shape and the structure of their noses and ears.
The unidentified man was seen approximately a mile from the murder scene, near the Putney Bridge underground station.
He purchased a ticket, passed through the barriers, and exited the station via a different exit.
Witnesses described the man as "sweating profusely" and speaking on a mobile phone when he boarded a bus to the tube station shortly after the shooting, according to The Mirror.
Before her death, Ms. Dando acknowledged that her role on Crimewatch left her fearful of potential retribution.
