Begum, originally from Bethnal Green, East London, left to join IS at the age of 15 in 2015.

The former Home Secretary revoked her British citizenship because she could also claim residency in Bangladesh.

This decision was upheld by the UK’s courts.

Lawyers representing Begum, now 26, who has moved to a camp housing former jihadists, claim she currently has an “unprecedented opportunity.”

The Shadow Justice Secretary stated: “Under no circumstances should Begum ever set foot in the UK again.”

“She chose to associate with terrorists and must now face the consequences.”

Former Security Minister Sir stated to The Express: “She willingly and knowingly joined ISIS.

“She aided them in their violent campaign.

“She intended to go there.

“She can remain there.”

He noted: “When I questioned her about the bombing, she remarked, ‘Shia do the same in Iraq.’

“She had little to offer in terms of apology to the millions of Iraqis and Syrians whose lives were devastated by IS.”

There are ongoing discussions regarding the UK’s obligations to jihadists who despise the nation yet wish to return from Syria.
