In accordance with the policing vision and reform initiatives of the Inspector General of Police, the Commissioner of Police for Yobe State Command, Emmanuel Ado, has issued an operational order for the immediate implementation of enhanced security strategies around schools, public infrastructure, and communities throughout the state.
This order was announced during a strategic meeting held with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Heads of Departments, and the Management Team of the Command.
During the meeting, CP Ado urged DPOs and tactical commanders to formulate robust action plans and collaborate more closely with community leaders, vigilante groups, and neighborhood watches to ensure a secure and inclusive environment.
“The Command remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens and will persist in deploying strategic policing measures to ensure public safety, particularly in and around school areas,” he reiterated.
According to a statement from the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Police Commissioner highlighted the significance of interagency collaboration, early-warning and intelligence-sharing mechanisms, and the activation of community-led security structures.
He also directed the enhancement of visibility policing, increased patrols, night detachments, and rapid-response tactics to ensure prompt intervention against any threats of kidnapping, insurgency, or criminal syndicates.
“We urge residents of the state to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and to continue supporting security agencies with timely information to maintain peace and stability throughout the state,” CP Ado stated.
It is noteworthy that Governor Mai Mala Buni recently sanctioned the temporary closure of all boarding schools in the state as a proactive measure against potential student abductions.
