President Bola Tinubu has disclosed the causes behind the poor condition of Nigerian roads.

In a nationwide address during Nigeria's 65th Independence celebration, Tinubu attributed the deteriorating roads to a lack of necessary investments made over the past decades.

“Fellow Nigerians, we are racing against time. We must construct the roads we need, restore those that have fallen into disrepair, and build the schools for our children and the hospitals that will care for our citizens. We must plan for the generations that will follow us.

“Currently, we lack sufficient electricity to energize our industries and homes, as well as the resources to mend our crumbling roads, establish seaports, railways, and international airports that meet global standards, because we did not make the necessary investments decades ago,” he stated.
