The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Wednesday declared that he is a Lagosian like President Bola Tinubu.
Akpabio made the disclosure during the inauguration of Ojota-Opebi link bridge, E-GIS, and Alausa complex in Lagos.
Representing Tinubu at the event, Akpabio recalled how he spent his early years in Lagos as a young Corps member.
He said: βYou wonder why the Senate President came to represent the president in Lagos. Itβs because the Senate President himself is a Lagosian. I lived right behind Bourdillion and I have been there for 30 years, I worked at Ajose as one of the directors of the telecom companies.
βI practiced law in Lagos from the day I became a young lawyer from the days of my youth Corps, I was on Lion building. I know Opebi, I knew Allen and Iβm in a position to testify to the transformation of Lagos.
βSo the President called me and why is he the President? He is not the President of the military but a civilian President of the democracy he fought for all his life. And who represents that democracy, itβs the Chairman of the National Assembly.β
