The Chairman of the South-South Development Commission, Chibudom Nwuche, has advised those who claim to support President Bola Tinubu to ensure his re-election in their respective states in 2027.

Nwuche delivered this advice on Wednesday during a “thank you” visit from the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to Ahoada East Local Government Area in Rivers State.

Emphasizing that “politics is local,” the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives urged politicians from other states to refrain from interfering in Rivers politics, highlighting that the state has its own unique political dynamics.

“Return to your states and demonstrate your political strength. Leave Rivers State alone. It has its own unique political dynamics that outsiders may not fully comprehend.

“We are a political family. When a leader makes a choice, the least we can do is express our gratitude and work together as a team. Fragmenting the team is not a sign of gratitude,” he stated.

He commended Wike’s political acumen in mobilizing the people of Rivers to vote for Tinubu as president and Siminalayi Fubara as governor during the 2023 general elections.

Nwuche expressed disappointment over Fubara’s performance, noting that many stakeholders did not know him personally but followed Wike’s guidance in the interest of the state.

He praised Wike for completing over 22 projects in the area, asserting that no other governor has matched such achievement in the state since 1999.

“No governor in Rivers State has approached the level of impact we saw during your tenure. Therefore, wherever you go, we shall follow,” he remarked.

In his comments, Wike explained that his visit was to thank the people for electing Tinubu in 2023 and to further encourage them in preparation for the 2027 elections.

He assured the people that what he termed a leadership mistake would be rectified in 2027, urging them to maintain their confidence in President Tinubu.
