THIS is the moment a train smashes through a hay-filled trailer after an intoxicated farmer stops on a level crossing.

The incident occurred around midday on August 3 at a railway crossing in Tczew County, in the north of .
It is understood 500 people were on the train at the time of the crash.
One passenger said: “I was sitting in the first carriage, and the impact was felt strongly.”
The footage, released by Polish State Railways, shows the tractor hauling trailers loaded with straw bales crossing the railway as barriers closed and warning lights flashed.

The driver then comes to a stop with the trailers still on the tracks before a passenger train crashes through them.
The organisation said the tractor driver was found to be intoxicated.
Officials confirmed that the tractor driver ignored signals and entered the crossing just as a train was approaching.
The approaching train failed to stop in time.

Thankfully there were no reported injuries.
Local media report the driver, a 67- year-old man, is likely to face criminal charges.
Railway workers remind passengers that at every level crossing, the train always has the right of way.
Polish State Railways Linie Kolejowe said: “A rail-road crossing is no place for recklessness. Stop, look around. Strictly follow the regulations, pay attention to signs and signals.”
According to the Office of Rail , nearly 200 accidents and collisions occur at level crossings in Poland each year.
Last year 185 accidents and collisions were recorded resulting in 58 deaths and 18 serious injuries.
Three people were injured after the carriages derailed on impact.
