β€œThe Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Kaduna State Council, has no intention whatsoever to engage in any strike action in the state,” the statement emphasized.

The union praised the Kaduna State Government under Gov. Uba Sani for what it termed as proactive policies and interventions aimed at enhancing the health sector.

Among the achievements mentioned were the approval and implementation of the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS/CONMESS) for health workers statewide and within the State Primary Health Care Board (SPHCB).

Additional accomplishments included the promotion and execution of three years of pending promotions, the upgrading and renovation of 255 health facilities and general hospitals, as well as the provision of essential medical equipment to primary health care centers and general hospitals.

The statement also highlighted the provision of ambulances to general hospitals to improve referral services across the state and the ongoing recruitment of 1,800 health professionals under the SPHCB.

The union indicated that over 90 percent of the workforce under the SPHCB are members of MHWUN, emphasizing that there is no reason or intention to disrupt industrial harmony through any form of strike.

Furthermore, the union expressed hope that the state government is aware of its outstanding demands and will address them within the year.
