EVERTON are leading the race for Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney, according to reports.
However Manchester United and Tottenham are among a host of other clubs keen on the 23-year-old.

With ‘ Everton ending the season in 13th despite having been fighting for a place in Europe earlier on in the campaign, Toffees fans were ultimately disappointed.
With room for improvement at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Everton are reportedly interested in English midfielder Hackney.
The midfielder was sidelined with a calf injury in March at home to Bristol City, a period which coincided with Boro faltering and ultimately missing out on an automatic promotion place.
Middlesbrough‘s key midfielder returned for the final 20 minutes of the Championship play-off final, but a 1-0 defeat to Hull saw Boro remain in the second tier.
From mostly defensive midfield, Hackney provided five goals and eight assists throughout the season.
Despite Boro’s failure to go up, Hackney looks destined to end up in the Prem next season.
Everton are joined by Nottingham Forest, Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Manchester United in the contest to get his signature this summer.

The young midfielder has a contract at Middlesbrough until June 2027 with a base salary of around £15,000 a week with the potential to earn an extra £250,000 through bonuses.
