All the GTA 6 map locations in real life

ROCKSTAR’S highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI is set in the fictional land of Leonida, a sprawling reimagining of the state of Florida — with Vice City standing in for Miami.

The game’s map is not just a return to the 2002 Vice City featured in the classic PS2 game, but a sprawling interactive world including a variety of locations inspired by the US State it’s based on.

Gamers were dealt a fresh blow in May 2025, when Grand Theft Auto VI’s (GTA 6) creators revealed the game had officially been delayed until 2026.

Bosses at Rockstar Games said they were “very sorry”;; that GTA 6 will be released later than expected — May 26, 2026.

The gaming giant had planned to unleash their next title in fall 2025.

So while we wait with bated breath for the latest instalment of the fantastic felony-fulled franchise, here’s a breakdown of GTA 6’s map locations and their real-world counterparts.

Downtown Miami (Vice City)

Downtown Miami forms the basis of Vice City in GTA 6, with its skyline faithfully recreated.

The in-game area features a blend of luxury condos, business districts and cultural landmarks, mirroring the real-life vibrancy of Miami.

Vice City is where players will be spending most of their time in GTA 6, completing crime-filled capers and evading the long arm of the law.

Miami Beach (Vice City Beach)

Miami Beach is reimagined as Vice City Beach in the game.

Capturing the beauty of its real-world counterpart, it features art deco hotels, palm-lined avenues and a lively beachfront

The sand-filled stretch is central to the Vice City’s nightlife and social scene, just as in Miami.

Florida Keys (Konica Keys)

The Florida Keys, represented as Konica Keys in GTA 6, are a chain of tropical islands with pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters.

This area offers a serene contrast to the chaos of Vice City, inviting players to explore its scenic bridges and laid-back atmosphere.

The Keys are known for their natural beauty and relaxed lifestyle, which the game captures in detail.

Kaseya Center (Sahara Arena)

The , formerly American Airlines Arena, is a major Florida landmark and home to the NBA’s Miami Heat.

In GTA 6, its counterpart stands as a prominent arena on the waterfront, also hosting sports and entertainment events.

The arena’s glass facade makes it a recognisable hub in the game, but it’s been renamed the Sahara Arena, which houses the fictional Vice City Narcos team.

E11EVEN Nightclub (NINE 1 NINE)

E11EVEN is Miami’s world-famous 24/7 ultra-club, known for its extravagant shows and celebrity guests.

The in-game NINE 1 NINE nightclub is a clear homage, even referencing E11EVEN’s signature airplane banner ads along the beach.

The club’s vibrant nightlife and high-energy atmosphere are faithfully translated into the Vice City experience.

Tresor Tower

Tresor Tower is a real Miami Beach landmark — part of the Fontainebleau complex located at 4401 Collins Avenue.

The building’s penthouse and rooftop are seemingly featured in the game’s trailer.

Spotted by Reddit user SynSvn, its inlcusion highlights Rockstar’s attention to detail when including authentic Miami architecture in its fictionalized version of the city.

Ocean Drive

Ocean Drive is one of Miami’s most famous streets.

It is celebrated for its art deco hotels, neon lights and bustling bars and restaurants.

In GTA 6, this iconic avenue is meticulously recreated, serving as a stylish backdrop for car chases and shootouts.

Rain Barrel Village

Rain Barrel Village is a quirky, artistic stop in the real Florida Keys, known for its giant lobster sculpture and artisan shops.

In GTA 6, a similar area featuring the same creative spirit and local flavor can be found in images shared of Leonida.

The village’s colorful character adds charm to the southern reaches of the map.

Venetian Causeway

Venetian Causeway connects Miami with Miami Beach, spanning Biscayne Bay with a series of scenic bridges.

In the game, this route unsurprisingly links Vice City and Vice City Beach.

Mirroring the importance of the real-life causeway for commuters and tourists, it is a fantastic place for a five-star police chase.

Florida State Prison (Leonida State Prison)

Florida State Prison, reimagined as Leonida State Prison, is a high-security facility set in the rural outskirts of the map.

This location plays a role in the game’s narrative, providing a backdrop for missions involving escapes or confrontations.

Its isolated setting reflects the real prison’s remote and imposing presence.

Panama City (Port Gellhorn)

Port Gellhorn stands in for Forida’s Panama City, offering a decaying port town with a rich history.

Once a popular vacation spot, its inclusion highlights the changing fortunes of Florida’s coastal communities.

Featuring abandoned motels and a haunting atmosphere, Port Gellhorn is in stark contrast with the game’s more luxurious locations.

Everglades (Grassrivers)

The Everglades are vast wetlands teeming with wildlife and natural beauty.

Players will need to navigate swamps and avoid alligators in this area of the game’s map.

The region is known as Grassrivers in GTA 6.
