Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced that he will personally lead Kano State pilgrims to the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia, pledging a spiritually rewarding and well-coordinated pilgrimage for all participants.

Speaking during a Hajj demonstration exercise held in Kano, the governor described the pilgrimage as a sacred duty that requires “dignity, discipline, and devotion,”;; not merely a physical journey.

“This is not a mere journey; it is an act of worship. I will personally lead the Kano pilgrims to ensure a smooth, coordinated, and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience,”;; he stated.

Governor Yusuf also unveiled a set of support initiatives aimed at easing the experience for pilgrims, from their departure in Nigeria to their stay in the Holy Land. His spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said the state had mobilized dedicated officials to assist pilgrims at every stage of the journey.

“We have mobilized dedicated teams to cater for the needs of our pilgrims—from airport to accommodation, and throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia. Our goal is to make this year’s pilgrimage the smoothest and safest in Kano’s history,”;; the governor added.

While addressing the gathering, the governor urged pilgrims to exhibit discipline, especially the youth and women, reminding them of the responsibility they carry in representing Kano State.

“To our youth, I urge you to avoid any act that could bring dishonor or disaster to our state. As for our women, remember that Kano women are known for their decency. Represent us with pride, respect yourselves, and uphold the dignity of our culture and religion,”;; he said.

Governor Yusuf warned against drug use and immoral behavior, emphasizing that such acts contradict the teachings of Islam and the purpose of the Hajj.

He also highlighted the importance of personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness during the pilgrimage. “Cleanliness is part of faith. I urge you all to keep your rooms and environments tidy while in Saudi Arabia,”;; he emphasized.
