Gov. Kefas Stands Firm on Peace in Taraba Amid Mosque Dispute

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State stated that the temporary measures implemented to resolve the recent Donga Central Mosque conflict were taken in the best interest of fostering peace and unity among the community.

The governor shared this information over the weekend at the TY Danjuma House in Wukari while welcoming a delegation from the Coalition of Indigenes of Donga residing in Abuja.

Governor Kefas highlighted that ensuring peace and stability in Donga is a top priority for his administration, asserting that his government will not tolerate any actions that could disturb the current harmony in the region.

“The peace of Donga is extremely important to me. I cannot accept anything that would jeopardize the unity and harmony of our people,” the governor remarked.
He urged the people of Donga to cooperate and understand the collective effort needed to promote development throughout Taraba State, emphasizing that governance is ultimately about bringing progress closer to the citizens.

Governor Kefas also expressed gratitude to the Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Maigari, the Gara Donga, and other members of the delegation for their visit.

He further conveyed his condolences to the Donga community regarding the unfortunate incident that led to the dispute.
Earlier, Maigari, who led the delegation, mentioned that their visit aimed to commend the governor for his prompt and decisive actions in addressing the crisis.

He praised Governor Kefas for personally visiting Donga during a critical time, describing this gesture as a sign of true leadership and dedication to peace.

“For the governor to personally visit Donga despite his busy schedule demonstrates that he is a leader who genuinely cares for his people,” Maigari stated.
