An independent review was quickly initiated, revealing an inadequate “inclusive culture” for employees at the institution.

Ex-England defender and board member Gary subsequently convened a staff meeting, where he openly recognized the necessity for change.

He co-founded the university in 2019 alongside Manchester United's Class of '92 members: Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Phil Neville, and Nicky Butt.

The institution provides business, sports, and media qualifications aimed at helping “disadvantaged young people receive a better education, with an emphasis on elite sports mindset.”

Recommendations from the report included the establishment of an equality and diversity task force.

Since then, an internal racial equity staff network has been formed.

A source informed The Sun: “The allegations regarding racial inequality shook the university.

“Gary was appalled that anyone believed such inequality existed.

“To his credit, he immediately took action and assured staff that the changes outlined in the report would be implemented.”

Financial records for UA92 indicate an income of £11.7 million for the year ending July 2024.
