GARY NEVILLE has criticized Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim for attributing the club’s difficulties to pundit commentary.
The former United captain was vocal in his response after Amorim's remarks.

Amorim expressed concern that criticism from pundits like Neville was affecting his players' confidence in the dressing room.
The United manager, whose team has struggled, indicated that the ongoing media scrutiny was hindering his players' ability to follow his tactics.
However, Neville dismissed these claims.
On his podcast, Gary Neville stated : “I have little patience for that. If punditry is affecting your mindset, you shouldn’t be playing for United. It’s as simple as that.”
Neville reminded Amorim and the current squad that facing criticism from pundits is part of the game, referencing his own experiences during his playing career.
He remarked: “Alan Hansen once said we wouldn’t win anything with kids. We faced severe criticism. That’s the reality.”
“You’re at a big club. It’s part of the job. Either rise to the occasion or step aside.”
Neville’s harsh remarks follow a tumultuous start to the season, leaving United in ninth place with only three wins from seven matches, two of which were against newly-promoted teams.
Those victories were crucial against Sunderland.
Neville's primary concern regarding Amorim's comments is what he perceives as a deeper cultural issue within the club—a lack of accountability and a tendency to shift blame.
He stated: “I never blamed anyone else when we lost games. In the dressing room, we took responsibility and faced the consequences. That’s what real players do.”
He cautioned that deflecting blame onto pundits instead of reflecting inward is a troubling indication of weakness.
Neville added: “Having an excuse mentality, taking shortcuts, and blaming others… it’s the worst thing you can do in life.
“The only way to silence critics is by winning matches, and at the moment, they are not achieving that.”
United finished a disappointing 15th last season, and a similarly poor performance this season could jeopardize Amorim's position.
