Friendly: Russia unveils squad for Super Eagles clash

Russia head coach Valery Karpin has announced a 41-man squad for his side’s highly anticipated friendly against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The friendly will hold at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow on Friday, 6 June.

It will be the first meeting between Nigeria and Russia at the senior level.

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper, Matvey Safonov tops the list of invited players for the game.

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle has already called up 21 players for the friendly.

Nigeria will participate in the Unity Cup invitational tournament in London before the clash with Russia.

The three-time African champions are using the matches as preparation for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September and October.
