Four headers, nine cows killed in Plateau violent attack

Four herders and nine cows were reportedly killed, in two separate attacks in Bokkos and Bassa LGAs of Plateau State on Tuesday. Five other people also sustained varied degrees of injuries during the attacks.

The incidents occurred a few hours after an earlier attack that resulted in the death of seven family members in Kopmur community, Mushere District of Bokkos.

The Plateau State chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo, revealed thus; “a gunmen killed a herder and opened fire on grazing cattle, causing the death of nine animals.”;

He disclosed that the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division of the Nigerian Army and the state police command, have been informed of the resurgence of violent attacks.

Plateau has been grappling with intensified acts of violence on herders and clashes with some community members.
