HANSI FLICK has called on Anthony Gordon to score more goals despite the Barcelona star’s electric start to the season.

Gordon, 25, is yet to find the back of the net since his £69.3m move from Newcastle this summer, but he has been setting them up for fun.

The international has racked up four assists in his first four games,

But despite Gordon’s impressive playmaking, boss Flick has urged the winger to add some goals of his own to his game.

Flick said: “I think as a striker, from his side, you want to score goals. He has had some chances and he missed them.

“But he has made the final pass to prepare the goals and this is also very important.”

Gordon scored 10 goals for Newcastle last season, a tally only bettered by and .

But his league return was less impressive, scoring only three times from open play across the whole season.

Ahead of Barcelona’s opening Champions League league phase clash against tomorrow evening, Flick is confident that the goals will come for Gordon once again.

The German manager added: “He will score goals, I have no worries about that.

“He’s doing good. I am happy with his performances in defence, but also in the offence. I think it is a good situation for him, but also for us.”

Barcelona are eyeing their first Champions League in over 10 years and Gordon’s teammate , has name-checked the former Toon ace as a reason they can finally get over the line.

Yamal said: “We already have the motivation to win the Champions League. I believe the whole team is motivated.

“The Champions League always motivates you because it is the most special competition.

“It motivates the good players too, like , Gordon, [Karim] Adeyemi, Gabriel [Jesus] and Joao [Cancelo].”

Gordon is just one of a host of superstar names that joined Barcelona this summer in a bid to finally win the Champions League again.

Yamal, 19, warned the newcomers that they must muck in like everybody else if they want to get their hands on the trophy.

He added: “You just have to look at the PSG team that recently won the title. Everyone presses.

“Here at Barca we try and press as a unit, maybe sometimes I lose focus, but I quickly get back to pressing.

“In today’s , if you don’t run, any team can beat you, regardless of who you are.

“If we don’t run against Feyenoord, we will lose. So it is for everyone on the team. If we want to win, we have to run.”
