Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru has described the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari as a monumental loss to the nation.

Reacting to the news of the death of the former President, Governor Nwifuru noted that Buhari was a towering figure whose life was marked by selfless service, discipline, and an undistracted commitment to the unity and progress of Nigeria.

“From his first appearance on the national stage as Military Head of State in 1984 to his return as democratically elected President in 2015, President Buhari consistently embodied integrity, courage, and simplicity—values that endeared him to millions of Nigerians.

“For us in Ebonyi State, President Buhari was more than a national leader. He was a partner in development and a friend to our people,”; he said.

This is contained in a statement issued on Sunday night by his Chief press secretary, Dr Monday Uzor and made available to journalists in Abakaliki.

Governor Nwifuru commiserated with the Government and people of Katsina State and Federal Government for the colossal loss and prayed for the repose of the soul of the former President.
