Former member of the House of Representatives, Hassan A. Saleh, has formally resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic PartyM PDP, ending a 25-year political journey with the party.
In a resignation letter dated July 2, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman in Aiono Ward 2, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, Saleh, cited persistent internal crises and what he described as an “irretracable downward spiral”; in the party as key reasons for his decision.
“You are aware of my loyalty and dedication to the PDP since I joined party politics 25 years ago,”; Saleh wrote.
“Despite all the shenanigans that occurred during these 25 years of my sojourn in the PDP, I have remained loyal... and even expended substantial part of my hard-earned resources and time in building the party at both the local level as well as in the State.”;
The two-term lawmaker, who represented Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency in the 7th and 8th National Assembly, expressed regret over the party’s failure to resolve critical internal differences in the last two years, noting that the PDP had reached a crossroad.
He added that his decision followed deep reflection and consultation with his family and associates.
