Ex-Barcelona manager, Xavi, has turned down a coaching job offer twice to become the new head coach of Bayer Leverkusen.

Marca reports that the Bundesliga club contacted Xavi twice and the 45-year-old Spaniard rejected them because he’s not interested in returning to managerial football presently.

Recall that Bayer Leverkusen recently sacked their head coach, Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag was dismissed on Monday after taking charge of just two Bundesliga matches.

The Dutchman was only appointed by Bayer Leverkusen on July 1 and was sacked after the club’s 3-3 draw with Werder Bremen over the weekend.

Leverkusen currently sit in 12th position on the Bundesliga table with one point from two games.
