THREE individuals were taken to the hospital after a bus carrying football fans was assaulted by hooligans wielding hammers.

The incident took place in Poland prior to Jagiellonia Bialystok’s home match against the Spanish team Rayo Vallecano.

According to Polskie Radio 24 , a bus filled with visiting fans was traveling overnight on the S8 motorway near Ostrow Mazowiecka, a town situated between Bialystok and the capital city, Warsaw.

Unfortunately, the vehicle was halted when two passenger cars blocked the road.

A group of FIFTY men then emerged from a hole cut in a nearby fence to surround the immobilized bus.

Reports indicate that they were armed with weapons such as hammers and batons.

The gang forcibly entered the bus and began assaulting the Spanish supporters.

It is believed that 10 individuals sustained injuries in the altercation, with nine being visiting fans and one being a local resident.

Three individuals suffered serious injuries and were promptly transported to the hospital.

Police quickly searched the area for suspects and stopped one vehicle containing four individuals.

It is reported that they discovered Jagiellonia Bialystok scarves and merchandise, along with a pair of scissors thought to have been used to cut the fence along the motorway, facilitating the thugs' attack.
