But he has struck just once in 12 appearances under this season.
And could now depart the Emirates for crucial minutes elsewhere.
The Athletic claims a number of Premier League and European clubs are keen on a deal, with some even hoping to sign Nwaneri permanently.
However, Arsenal are only wiling to let the prodigy leave on a short-term loan.
And they favour sending the ace to France with Marseille, who have shown a strong interest in Nwaneri.
The Ligue 1 outfit are managed by ex- boss Robert De Zerbi and sit third in the table, seven points off PSG and eight off surprise leaders Lens.
They boast a number of ex-Premier League players including Mason Greenwood, Neal Maupay and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Arsenal chiefs feel Marseille’s style of play would be ideal for Nwaneri.
And talks are now ongoing over a fee, with the loan also not including an option for a permanent deal in the summer.
Nwaneri’s path to Arsenal’s first team has taken a major hit this season after boss Arteta strengthened his squad with more experienced players.
Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke both arrived to hinder Nwaneri’s chances of action.
His last league appearance was a two-minute cameo in November.
And the youngster has not featured in the last four match-day squads.
Nwaneri did start in the 4-1 FA Cup third round win over Portsmouth earlier this month.
Yet it remains to be seen whether he will be involved in Arsenal’s Champions League clash against Inter Milan later tonight.
