in 18th place in the Championship table.

But the 34-year-old, who previously only ever managed MLS side Minnesota United for two years, failed to pick up a single win during his time at the club.

have since dropped to 21st in the rankings.

And they are just one spot above the relegation zone, which is currently occupied by rivals Leicester.

West Brom confirmed Ramsay’s departure in a brutally short statement consisting of just 58 words.

They thanked the gaffer for his short spell at the club, while also confirming the exit of his assistant Dennis Lawrence.

And the Baggies added that coach James Morrison will take charge temporarily while they look for a new manager.

The statement read: “West Bromwich Albion have parted company with men’s first team Head Coach Eric Ramsay.

Assistant Head Coach Dennis Lawrence has also departed The Hawthorns.

The club would like to place on record its thanks to Eric and Dennis and wishes them well for the future.

First Team Coach James Morrison will oversee first-team affairs on an interim basis.”

West Brom can bounce back from their run of results with a trip to Oxford United this weekend.

They lie second-bottom in the table, providing Morrison with a chance to stake his claim for the top job.

The Baggies’ final outing under Ramsay saw them draw 1-1 with Charlton yesterday.

Other notable defeats included a 3-0 loss at Portsmouth and a 5-0 thrashing at home by Norwich.
