Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer, believes it could be easier for Arsenal to win the Champions League.
Shearer, speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, seemed to suggest Mikel Arteta’s men were struggling mentally in the Premier League.
On Wednesday night, Wolves held the Gunners to a 2-2 draw – it was the second consecutive league fixture the league leaders threw away a lead and dropped points.
Shearer has now said their bad experiences in previous title races could be the cause.
He said: “Mentally maybe the Champions League would be an easier barrier to get over to win that rather than the Premier League, because of what has happened to them in the Premier League.”
Arsenal are waiting to learn who their Round-of-16 opponents in the Champions League will be, after finishing top of the league phase.
