Chelsea, on Wednesday evening, confirmed that forward Raheem Sterling has left the club by mutual agreement.

The Blues made this known in a statement via their website ahead of their Champions League tie with Napoli.

Sterling had joined Chelsea from Premier League rivals Manchester City in 2022.

The Englishman had signed a long-term deal with Liam Rosenior’s side.

However, with the latest development, Sterling has now brought to an end a three-and-a-half-year season at Stamford Bridge.

Sterling, meanwhile, failed to impress during his time at Chelsea and spent time on loan at Arsenal in the past.

“We thank Raheem for the contribution he made while a Chelsea player and wish him well for the next stage in his career,” Chelsea’s statement partly read.
