Chelsea head coach, Enzo Maresca has identified the area the Blues need to improve after their Premier League 2-2 draw against Brentford on Saturday night.

Recall that Maresca watched as Chelsea drew against the Bees at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Kevin Schade gave Brentford the lead in the first half before Cole Palmer came off from the bench to equalized for Maresca’s side.

Moises Caicedo then scored a powerful shot from outside of the penalty box to put Chelsea in front towards the closing stages of the encounter.

But a late goal from Fabio Carvalho ensured both teams shared the points.

Maresca was not pleased with his team for conceding a late equalizer against the hosts.

According to the Italian, Chelsea need to improve on ‘sending the game to sleep’ by passing the ball around when they are leading their opponents towards the end of a match.

Speaking at his post-match interview, Maresca said, “For sure in the moment that we scored the second goal we have to manage better.

“We scored in the 86th minute and in that moment you need to give passes, you need to slow down, you need to send the game to sleep a little bit.

“It is something that we didn’t do and it’s something that we need to improve on and we need to learn.”
