Disaster struck when he hopped down the coach’s stairs on his arrival at the team hotel before the Moldova game.
Haaland made his way off the bus and briefly stood next to the bus.
And he was not looking as the door to the luggage compartment opened.
It caught him square in the face and he had a bleeding mouth.
Witnesses allege that Haaland shouted “f***” as he recoiled in pain.
He was quickly helped by Norway’s team doctor Ola Sand and senior security advisor Geir Ellefsen, who brought him inside the hotel and gave him stitches.
He also had to be checked over by a dentist.
Haaland shared a snap of his injury on social media and told fans: “Just got banged out by a bus door. 3 stitches.”
When asked about the incident in a press conference, team-mate : “I didn’t see it, but I heard he had a door in his face.
“It didn’t sound good, but it looks like he’s doing okay.”
On if it’s the most bizarre injury he has come across, Odegaard added: “It’s high up. I’ve never been in anything like it. It was good that it didn’t get worse.
“It could have been a little ugly, but it seems to be going well.”
