Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has emphasized that Liverpool remains a strong contender for the Premier League title.

He stated that the Reds should not be dismissed from the title race against Arsenal, despite their recent struggles.

As they approach this weekend's matches, Liverpool had suffered defeats in their last three Premier League encounters.

Nonetheless, the Reds secured a convincing 5-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Currently, they trail leaders Arsenal by four points, while City is just three points behind the Gunners.

Manchester United is set to face Aston Villa on Sunday, while Arsenal and Liverpool will play against Crystal Palace and Brentford, respectively.

During his pre-match press conference, the former Barcelona manager was asked whether he believes the Cityzens are flying under the radar in the Premier League title race.

He responded, “Well, in the first two or three games, yes, for sure we [City] are out.

“And Liverpool is already written off, and now it appears that Liverpool is finished. But I’ll tell you that they will make a comeback.

“I’ve mentioned many times that I know all the pundits, all the specialists, or former players believe they understand everything that will happen after five games. I’m not capable of doing that.

“Thus, I always wait for 10 to 15 games to truly understand what is happening. But I think clearly Liverpool and Arsenal are in the mix, and someone else will join them, and hopefully, we can be part of that as well.”
