Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has identified Arsenal as the leading contenders for the Premier League title, ahead of both Liverpool and Manchester City.
However, Carragher cautioned that the Gunners might experience anxiety as the title race heats up in the final months of the season.
Currently, Arsenal holds the top position in the Premier League table, leading by three points over second-placed Manchester City and four points ahead of third-placed Liverpool after eight matches.
“I was concerned this would happen,” Carragher, a former Liverpool defender, shared on The Gary Neville Podcast. “It almost seems that once the invincibility is lost – similar to what we saw with Man City last season – every rival team feels they have a chance.
“And will Arsenal or Manchester City be too far ahead? Right now, I believe Arsenal appears to be the most prepared team to claim the title.
“Yet, Arsenal may feel the pressure in March and April since they haven't won a league title in a long time. Liverpool and Manchester City must ensure they don't fall too far behind where they can't influence the outcome.
“That’s the issue with Liverpool; they are now dropping unnecessary points. I believe they will continue to lose more. They need to keep Arsenal within reach.”
