Former France midfielder Emmanuel Petit anticipates an easy victory for Arsenal against Brentford in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

The Gunners saw their lead at the top of the table reduced to two points after Manchester City defeated Fulham 5-4 yesterday.

Petit stated that Mikel Arteta’s squad needs to embark on a winning streak to extend their advantage over their competitors.

While Petit acknowledges that Brentford can be a “nuisance,” he expects Arsenal to score as many as three goals against their opponents.

He remarked: “Arsenal must secure a win at the Emirates. When I review the schedule of upcoming matches leading up to Christmas, they have what are considered easier games.

“This presents an opportunity over the next five matches to widen the gap with the top teams in the Premier League. So, a victory for Arsenal is essential.

“I would say Brentford can occasionally be a challenge, but I don’t foresee any reason for Arsenal to drop points. I would predict a scoreline of around 3-0.”
