EPL: Dwight Yorke names two players Man Utd should sign for Amorim

Published on May 21, 2025 at 07:05 PM

Former Manchester United star Dwight Yorke has urged his old club to sign Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez and Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martínez this summer transfer window.

Man United are keen to bolster their manager Rúben Amorim’s squad this summer following a poor campaign in the Premier League.

However, Yorke believes Núñez will excel at Man United and score more goals for the Red Devils than he did at Liverpool.

He also added that Martínez is better than Man United’s current first-choice goalkeeper André Onana, saying the Argentina World Cup winner will do a better job at Old Trafford.

“I’m a big fan of his [Núñez],”;; Yorke told GamblingIndustryNews (via Metro UK).

“I think that I could understand why Liverpool would want to change him.

“He is still at a good age. He has now been in England for the last three years or so. He understands English culture.

“What he is expecting, I think, is a new beginning. If I were looking at him from the outside, that is somebody I would take on to bring aggression. You would be the top man or one of the top men at Man United.

“If he wants to go there, you give me something. And I think he will score more goals at Man United than at Liverpool,”;; he said.

“He [Emiliano Martínez] wouldn’t just be bringing experience, but he is a far better goalkeeper than André Onana, just going by the numbers,”;; he added.
