Published on May 20, 2025 at 03:35 PM

Chelsea will replace Enzo Maresca with departing Ajax boss Francesco Farioli if the Italian fails to take them to Champions League next season.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that Chelsea will only make a move if Maresca fails to secure Champions League football for next season.

Chelsea have blown hot and cold this season under the former Leicester City boss, Maresca.

They are fourth in the Premier League table with the league coming to an end on Sunday.

DAILY POST understands that the top five teams from the English top flight football will make it to the Champions league next season.

To make it to the Champions League, the Blues will have to beat Nottingham Forest away in their last game on Sunday.

Aston Villa and Manchester City are also in contention and are breathing down the Blues’ neck.

Chelsea brightened their hopes of securing a Champions League place on Friday night when they beat Manchester United 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

They face Athletic Bilbao in the final of the UEFA Conference League on Thursday.
