Former Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel has asserted that Manchester City will catch up to Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

Friedel made his comments following City's thrilling 5-4 victory at Fulham on Tuesday night.

This win allowed Pep Guardiola's team to narrow the gap between them and Arsenal to just two points.

The Gunners have an opportunity to extend their lead to five points when they face Brentford tonight at the Emirates.

However, Friedel is confident that City will ultimately close in on Arsenal.

He shared with talkSPORT: “I believe Man City will overtake Arsenal.

“Currently, Arsenal is the best team; they play the most appealing football.

“Yet, I think that as we reach March and April, and if they are still competing in Europe and the FA Cup, any significant injuries could hinder them.

“Man City has already experienced a setback and is on the rebound; they have gone through their mental dip, and I expect them to start rising again.”
