What a waste
IT’S hardly surprising that barely anything works in Britain any more.

A shocking report today reveals where all our cash is going — and it isn’t into fixing crumbling roads, building or in technology.
It’s being gobbled up by an unsustainable cycle of welfare spending.
over the past two decades rather than on fixing the shambolic rail network, investing in high-tech industries and creating the conditions for economic growth.
Instead of reviving towns and cities, successive governments have used welfare as an “anaesthetic” to numb the pain.
As a result, nearly 3,400 UK neighbourhoods have more working-age benefit claimants than employed residents.
The whole system is clearly failing when 32million households don’t have a single person in work and more than a million under-25s are not in education, or training.
It is a matter of national shame that nearly 2million people are receiving long-term sickness when they may be fit for work — and yet 1,000 more are still being signed off every day.
So what is our new PM doing about it? He marched into No10 promising to “bring back hope”.
Instead, it’s more of the same.
Burnham thinks he can kid us by ordering a spin-doctored “review” of youth unemployment. But by kicking the can down the road until after the Budget, he has left Chancellor completely hamstrung and unable to slash the bill.
We cannot bankroll an endless benefits dependency culture while our infrastructure collapses and the country buckles under record taxes.
Bigmouth PM
IN the words of the PM’s favourite indie band The Smiths: Bigmouth strikes again.
Andy Burnham is making a habit of speaking before engaging his brain. He was left with egg on his face yet again after claiming on podcast The Rest Is Politics there was “clear” evidence Russia meddled in the Brexit referendum.
Within hours Downing Street was frantically insisting the PM believed the result was legitimate after all.
Burnham himself then popped up bizarrely to insist he hadn’t “implied” anything about the Russians.
Is he spinning yarns to bolster his plot to drag Britain back into the EU? Or is our PM just a blatherer who shoots from the lip and hopes for the best?
It’s not the first time Burnham has made a mess of things. Barely a week ago, .
If he wants to be taken seriously, he should get to work solving the challenges facing this nation, maybe starting with the cost of living.
The Rest is… just plain stupid.
