Music icon Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi has encouraged Nigerian students to utilize their knowledge and skills to foster positive transformation and contribute to the nation's development.
Obey-Fabiyi made this statement during the graduation ceremony for 79 students from the sixth graduating class of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, which took place at the Ebenezer Obey Music and Life Skills Institute, Abeokuta Centre, on Saturday.
He urged the graduates to ensure their accomplishments reflect the principles of discipline, hard work, and service to humanity, explaining that the centre aims to empower young individuals and give back to society through education and moral development.
Additionally, the Director of the Centre for Part-Time and Professional Studies at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Dr. Lateef Mustapha, characterized the graduation as a celebration of resilience, creativity, and lifelong learning.
Mustapha emphasized that higher education should extend beyond traditional classroom instruction to encompass moral discipline, entrepreneurship, and community service, reminding the graduates that true success is measured not by grades, but by the positive contributions they make to society.
In his goodwill message, former Vice-Chancellor of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Professor Sabiru Adesanya, praised the institute for its contributions to human capacity development and encouraged the graduates to remain exemplary representatives of the institution.
Earlier, the director of the institute, Mr. Adekunle Durosinmi, referred to the event as a significant milestone in the institute's ongoing pursuit of excellence, emphasizing that the increasing number of graduates reflects students' confidence in the centre's academic and professional programs, which effectively integrate moral values with skill-based education.
