MANCHESTER UNITED icon Steve Bruce has been dismissed from his position as Blackpool manager.
The decision came after a disappointing 2-0 loss at home against newly-promoted AFC Wimbledon.

Bruce departs with the Seasiders sitting second from the bottom in League One.
A club statement read: “Blackpool Football Club can confirm the departure of Head Coach Steve Bruce, Assistant Head Coach Steve Agnew, and First-Team Coach Stephen Clemence.
“The club expresses gratitude for their contributions and wishes them the best in their future endeavors.
“Stephen Dobbie and Steve Banks will oversee first-team responsibilities until a permanent successor is appointed.”
Blackpool has managed to win only two of their 11 matches in League One so far, placing them just one point above last-place Peterborough.
Many supporters viewed the match against AFC Wimbledon as a critical turning point – and it proved to be just that.
Two goals from Danilo Orsi marked the end of the 64-year-old Geordie's tenure.
Bruce has overseen over 1,000 matches and took over from Neil Critchley at Bloomfield Road in September 2024.
The Tangerines were among the favorites for promotion at the beginning of the season after finishing ninth the previous campaign.
However, a poor start has brought an end to the former Newcastle manager's time at the seaside.
